Welcome to our Summer 2023 issue! Our Pride is a Protest cover art was created by queer illustrator Courtney L Ellis.

We have a trans flag takeover on our cover, showing our group of activists outside the Scottish Parliament at Holyrood, standing up for trans rights. In this issue (and in every issue) we are 1000% in solidarity with our trans community. Unashamedly, fabulously, joyously and defiantly so.

This issue is a jam-packed 98 pages of LGBTQ+ fabulousness. Shaper/Caper tell us about Small Town Boys, and we find out more from singers Mike McKenzie, Mally Smith, Megan Black and Finn Brodie. There’s the latest from the Pet Shop Boys, Cat Burns and Alison Goldfrapp in our music section, and we also hear from photographer Jaime Prada, artist Heather Marshall and sculptor Colin J. Radcliffe. There’s plenty of drag to champion too, including the lowdown from drag king Dorian T. Fisk. We also meet LGBTQ+ authors Ryan Love, Vaneet Mehta, Harry Nicholas and Jamie Raines to find out about their latest work. Alongside our regular features with Andrew Henderson of Pride of the Terraces, Rainbow Families and out on the farm at Lynbreck Croft, we are also championing some of our awesome Rainbow Enterprise Network Members (inc Lingo Flamingo, Studio Lutalica and The Cairngorms National Park Authority).
