Happy 5th Birthday to us! Welcome to our very special birthday issue. Our special “Twenty-One” cover art was created by our long-time collaborator, the brilliant Madeleine Leisk.
This is a very special limited-edition hardback edition. Only twenty-one copies have been printed, and only a small number of these will be available to purchase.
Every copy has been hand numbered and signed by Somewhere: For Us co-editors and co-founders Kath and Thomas, as well as our cover artist Madeleine Leisk.
The hardback edition features a gloss cover finish, gorgeous pink end papers and a pink bookmark ribbon. Due to the printing of this edition, every copy is unique so there may be an odd corner/hinge bump here and there. That’s the beauty of print.
Taking a temporary break from time-travelling (don’t worry we will be back with an 80s bang in a couple of months) to celebrate five years of our wee mag, inside you will find all the insights and behind the scenes experiences which has made Somewhere: For Us such an important part of the Scottish LGBTQ+ cultural landscape.
Cutting across queer arts and rainbow enterprises, the breadth of scope we have covered in the last five years goes to show how incredible the LGBTQ+ creative community is - across Scotland and beyond – and what a joy it has been to bring it all together in our own space, our own magazine.
As well as tracking the magazine story, we also spend time with our Unicorn Award and Fringe Award winners, and we hear what our wee mag has meant to our readers and contributors over the past five years.

Somewhere: For Us is the award-winning quarterly LGBTQ+ arts, culture, heritage and enterprise magazine for Scotland and beyond. This 88-page A4 hardback is printed on high-quality FSC-approved paper. We are a social enterprise, and any surplus funds (profits) are reinvested into supporting our community of creatives and businesses across Scotland.
