ABOUT THIS ISSUE:
Welcome to our bumper Spring 2026 issue – it’s a whopper! Our 1980s inspired “Bi Beautiful Launderette” cover art was created by the wonderful illustrator Seán Casey.
Following our seventies time-hop at the end of last year, we’re back from our birthday issue and we’re continuing our time travels, landing with a thump this time in arguably the most turbulent and life-changing decade for the LGBTQ+ community, in so many ways - the 1980s.
With key features and interviews with Holly Johnson and Peter Tatchell, and a Dyke Culture takeover, we are diving into the turmoil and triumphs of the decade we will never forget.
As well as the drama and the struggle, there was also plenty to celebrate. The 80s means slogan fashion, the visibility of queer music - and the brilliant Barrowlands venue - plus the next in our series of Queer Icons. There’s also more books for your list, and more problems to be solved by our very own Dear Mystika.
So much happened in the 80s just as some of it is happening again now – and here is where you can find out all about it.
